RUSSIAN LAW WEEK CONFERENCE 2010
RuStyle is proud to present Russian Commercial Law Week 2010 (“RCLW 2010″) on 15 – 19 NOVEMBER organised by ARLA
The aim is to build on the achievements of the original Russian Law Week (held at the start of the millennium) to bring a better understanding of the most important aspects of the Russian legal system to all branches of the British legal community in order to nurture and develop closer ties, greater cooperation and an exchange of insight between the law making, judicial, commercial, and academic branches of the British and Russian legal communities.
A number of seminars and conference will take place during the RCLW 2010. Most of these will be held in London and will cover a variety of key topics including Corporate Law in Russia, Russian Intellectual Property Rights, Arbitration in Russia, and Russian Insurance Law. The week will commence with the main conference of the week, which will look at the overall developments in commercial law in Russia and at the commercial courts in Russia. The keynote address at the conference will be given by Judge Ivanov - Chairman of the Supreme Commercial Court of the Russian Federation. The Minister of Justice of the Russian Federation – Aleksandr Konovalov and a number of high-profile commercial judges and academics from Russia and UK will also speak at the conference.
This will be followed by a session on law making in Russia, which will include presentations from a representative of the State Duma Legislative Committee, a representative from the Ministry of Justice of Russia, and a representative at the Federation Council of Russia. The third session will look at the Russian Civil Code and its latest developments. The highly influential Professor Alexander Makovskiy will give his insights, as will further members of the Supreme Arbitrazh Court.
Finally, the academic part of the conference will be concluded by a session on Russian corporate law, a key part of all commercial relations with Russian business. The speakers in the final session will include a representative from the Ministry of Economic Developments and the Association of Lawyers of Russia.
The conference will be followed by a gala drinks reception providing a perfect venue to reflect on the earlier presentations and to develop greater contacts in the legal communities of Britain and Russia.
